 MLM stands for Multilevel Marketing. They are also sometimes referred to as Pyramid Schemes.  MLM programs offer you promises on how to get rich quick, usually by selling their products and signing up other distributors. For the vast majority of these programs, only the people at the very top of the pyramid make any significant money. The rest of the people are convinced that they should sell product to their family and friends and then try to sign them up as distributors too. Most people give up after awhile, realizing that the bargins really aren't that good and that they have a very tough time convincing others to participate in the program. For the majority of people, MLM's are a complete waste of time and money.  
  Ok, I know what you might be thinking...if I'm against most Multilevel Marketing programs, why are there MLM banner ads on the top of this page? It's because those ads are part of the Google Adsense program. They pickup the fact that the page has the text MLM on it, and they place the ads automatically. Also, I am not saying that you should not be involved in an MLM program. I am saying that you should do a lot research and realize what your getting yourself into.
